Moon cake, happy Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival

Well, it's hard to find moon cake in Tucson, in order to celebrate the mid-autumn festival, we went for LiLi supermarket to buy moon cake, I'm so glad to share moon cake and Chinese culture with my American friend. Something disappointed is that I didn't take the photos of we eating moon cake!

  It's was my first time to went to Chinese restaurant, feeling so good taste something from my homeland, spicy food and some sweet food, so interesting! The name of this restaurant is Old Peiking, if you have time, I strongly recommended you to have a try!

  Recently, I was doing some research about Yakuza in Japan, it's really interesting crime organization, and Yakuza is a little bit different from western Mafia, the main spirit of Yakuza is brother- hold and “GINGI”(仁), and it interested me a lot, so I will show some research about Yakuza below and some opinion of me about Yakuza.    Yakuza   ( Japanese :  ヤクザ ,  [jaꜜkɯza] ) , also known as  gokudō   ( 極道 , "the ultimate path") , are members of  transnational organized crime   syndicates originating in  Japan . The  Japanese police , and media by request of the police, call them  bōryokudan   ( 暴力団 , "violent groups") , while the yakuza call themselves " ninkyō dantai "  ( 任侠団体 or 仁侠団体 , "chivalrous organizations") . Chinese culture: 年年有鱼

  In China, fish is symbol of lucky and happiness, there is a idiom: 年年有鱼 in China, means we hope we can left something for the next year, and the last word of the idiom is 余 means left, it has same pronounce as 鱼(fish)in Chinese, so we like using fish as the lucky symbol. There are some interesting pictures below show how much our Chinese people like this symbol.

  Today I want to talk about the record breaking anime movie :《Your Name》, there is one scene attracts me a lot is that when  heroine Mitsuha makes Kuchikamaisake and dance for praying to the god. It is some kinds of festival actives in Japan, I refer some materials in the net and share with you guys. Kuchikamizake   (口噛み酒, " "mouth-chewed   sake ") is a kind of rice-based alcohol produced by a process involving human   saliva   as a   fermentation starter . Kuchikamizake was one type of the earliest sake. Kuchi means "mouth", kami means "chew" and zake is the   rendaku   form of "sake." "Kuchikami no sake" is a synonym. Description Kuchikamizake has an opaque, whitish colour and tastes quite sour. It is made when someone, ideally a virginal girl, chews cooked rice and then spits the  resulting liquid  into a container.  Hi, everyone, my name is Jingcheng Zhang, an international student from China,and I'm so glad that I can join us in this course. The reason why I choose this course is that I'm so interested in Asian culture. As a Chinese man, I am familiar with my own Chinese culture, like Chinese history and some traditional customs, but I'm still in other Asian country' culture, like Japanese culture and Korea culture. To be honest, I'm a fan of Japanese anime, in anime, they show a lot of Japanese traditional stuff, like Kimono,Sushi,Obon, Omaturi and so on. These things attracts me a lot, even out of Anime, I also want to learn more about them. In this blog, I home I can keep my record about Asian culture and I also want to share us with my Chinese culture which you can't find through net and class.
